The department of Corrèze is part of the current region of Limousin. It is surrounded by the department of Creuse, Haute-Vienne, in the region of Auvergne by the department of Cantal and the department of the Puy-de-Dôme, in the region of Midi-Pyrénées by the department of Lot, and in the region of Aquitaine by the department of the Dordogne. Tulle is the prefecture of Corrèze and Brive-la-Gaillarde the largest city.
